Former Petroleum Minister and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Chief Don Etiebet has lauded the president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari for changing the face and transforming the country to an enviable height.
The Chairman of APC Caucus in Akwa Ibom State made this recommendation in his latest post on social media.
According to him, “Oh My God, I took the Abuja – Kaduna train on Friday morning from Abuja to Kaduna and returned Saturday. A smooth, comfortable ride in a clean train with nice coffee and tea served and and escort police in toe. I felt very happy and was wondering whether I was in Nigeria. My last daughter called from Lagos while I was in the Train and I replied from inside the train and she was marvelled and asked when last did I travel by train in Nigeria? Send me pictures which I did. I replied 1965 from Port Harcourt to Zaria to register at Ahmadu Bello University to do Electrical Engineering before I left for Imperial College of Science and Technology, London to do Petroleum Technology in 1966. She screamed and asked why we hadn’t travelled to Akwa Ibom by train? I told her I will answer that one when I returned to Lagos. Then suddenly, I saw pictures of the train to start the Lagos – Ibadan route from Saturday on a four month free trial run on social media. I marvelled at the luxury of the train’s interior. I told Hon West- Idahosa, siting beside me, as we travelled together for a Sing Song Night Virgil of my father-in-law, Rtd AIG Nanakumo in Kaduna, that Nigeria has arrived. We are in the next level and we must thank President Muhammadu Buhari for changing the face of Nigeria. I wondered what our past leaders were doing with all the oil money that we had neither roads nor railways till now even under construction. I commend President Muhammadu Buhari for his determination to make us happy and proud of Nigeria since all these years that until recently we were importing rice, sometimes synthetic rice. He is laying sound and solid foundations for development and growth. May God protect him and give him good health to turn Nigeria around. And to Amaechi, the Minister of transpiration, I say thank you. With the Lagos-Ibadan route being commissioned I wait with eagerness for the commissioning of the Lagos-Calabar route. I love train journeys, it’s relaxing and you see and enjoy the country side. I want to get on that train with my daughter from Lagos to Akwa Ibom before I die. I’m 75 now. God bless President Buhari, God bless Nigeria”, Chief Don Etiebet, CON had said.42
